I challenge myself – even today!

If you’re reading this blog post, you’ve come to TaleCraft Security’s site and found the section I really enjoy – a place where I can share stories with you and find a way to help, give back, and grow together.

I created Three Questions as the 2023 President of ASIS International.  I challenged each of our 34,000+ members to answer these questions:  how can I help, how can I give back, and how can we grow together.  I was honoured to serve our membership throughout 2023, and those questions lit a fire within.

Folks could say (and they’d be correct!) that I’m at the tail (not Tale) end of my career.  After 43 years, and a couple executive global roles, I’ve built a pretty good career.  I truly enjoy my life with Lisa and our rescue dogs Hazel and Piper.  I embrace what we have in Calgary, love spending time with family and friends, and appreciate the ability to support charities we believe in, and our community.

Some folks in my position could take this time to gear down a little bit.  I guess I’m not that guy!

I still have so much I want to do.  So, I started TaleCraft Security to help other security professionals and their organizations, give back to the profession of security, and grow the TaleCraft Security business for myself and others.

I get a chance to answer my Three Questions!  That’s the exciting part – challenging myself to build a business from the ground up, learn new skills, and find unique and practical ways to help others.

That was one of the greatest appeals in starting TaleCraft Security – creating services I think organizations will appreciate and providing an avenue for talented professionals to help out.  I have always been a servant leader and have been proud of the strong network of security professionals I’ve come to call as my mentors, colleagues, and friends.  I get a chance now to help others see just how amazing these folks are!

And I’m hoping to get paid along the way 😉
